Wills

Wills and Probate Services. Probate of Will. Make a Will. Write a Will. Advice and help to write and make a legal Will. If you haven't even thought about writing a Will, and you have assets (including property) worth in excess of £325,000, did you know that your estate could pay 40% in inheritance tax over that amount if you don't take professional advice?

Our £350 Wills package INCLUDES this advice.

Suitably qualified accountants like Carbon Accountancy now have the legal authority to offer Wills and probate services, as well as solicitors.

Details of our probate accreditation can be viewed at icaew.com/probate under reference number C001351990.

Your Will lets you decide what happens to your money, property and possessions after your death. If you make a Will you can also make sure you don’t pay more Inheritance Tax than you need to.

You should always get advice, especially if your Will isn’t straightforward, and you will need to get your Will formally witnessed and signed to make it legally valid. Even if you already have a Will and want to update it, you will need to make the alteration official (called a ‘codicil’) or make a new Will. May people also don't realise that if you get married or have a civil partnership after you make your Will, if the Will made no mention of the marriage, then that previous Will becomes invalid.

Remember that if you die without a valid Will, the law will decide who gets what, and the court's decision may not be what you would have wanted.

If you want to send us a copy of your Will by email we can store it electronically.

Special offer – sign up now to get your Will drafted at a price of £350 plus VAT per Will including a meeting to discuss inheritance tax planning. Email us at info@carbonaccountancy.co.uk
